Abstract:
Synonymy refers to individual words with differing pronunciations but shared meanings, encompassing the variation in pronunciation and agreement in meaning among two or more words. This Paper relies on the textual content of coffins published by De Buck, from the end of the Old Kingdom and continued into the Middle Kingdom. The objective is to discern synonyms as a focal point of interest within lexicology. An inductine and analytical approach will be adopted, involving transliteration of the sentences, translation, and explication of the nature of synonymy and its underlying causes, where possible.
